Pakistan, China, Afghanistan and Nepal committed to jointly combat COVID-19

Minister for Economic Affairs, Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar participated in dialogue with China, Afghanistan and Nepal on Joint response to COVID-19. Representing Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Minister for Economic Affairs put forward the effort of Pakistani government in combating & controlling the effects of pandemic through Pakistan Preparedness and Response Plan (PPRP) costing $595 million and Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program. He further pointed out the collaboration with participating countries over research and development of vaccines and Public Health infrastructure as a necessity of time and expressed Pakistan’s readiness in effort to do so. In his video message, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi emphasized on global response against pandemic and lauded the initiative for the Quadrilateral platform
