Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and China’s Minister of State for Public Security and head of the Special Service Bureau, Ling Zhifeng, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening counterterrorism cooperation and deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries during a meeting at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Naqvi is representing Pakistan at the two-day United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit 2026, being held at the UN headquarters in New York on July 7 and 8. He said Pakistan wanted to further strengthen security cooperation with China and noted that a Special Protection Police Force had been established to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan.
The interior minister also underscored the importance of people-to-people contacts in strengthening bilateral ties, saying visa facilitation was essential in this regard.
