Pakistan, China have vast potential for AI cooperation: Chinese Consul General
China’s Consul General in Lahore Sun Yan has described Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a transformative force that will reshape education, industry and humanity’s future, stressing that its development should remain people-centered, safe and inclusive. Speaking at the launch of Pakistan’s first AI tutor, MAYA AI, he highlighted the strong potential for Pakistan-China cooperation in AI, particularly in education, agriculture, healthcare and innovation. HEC Chairman Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar also urged Pakistani universities to equip students to actively contribute to the rapidly evolving AI revolution.

Addressing as the guest of honour at the launching ceremony of Pakistan’s first AI tutor, MAYA AI, developed by the University of South Asia (USA), he said China believes that AI development must remain people-centered, safe, inclusive and beneficial to all nations.
Sun Yan said Pakistan and China have enormous potential to strengthen cooperation in artificial intelligence, particularly in the fields of education, agriculture, healthcare and innovation. Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, who attended the ceremony as chief guest, said Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the world and Pakistan’s universities must prepare students to become active contributors to this technological revolution.
