Pakistan, China Sign Agreements to Strengthen Youth Development Cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Jun 18 (APP):Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan concluded a series of high-level engagements in Beijing on Thursday, signing and witnessing key agreements with leading Chinese institutions aimed at expanding Pakistan-China cooperation in education, skills development, technology transfer, innovation and youth empowerment.
The visit, held as part of efforts to implement understandings reached during Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China, sought to create new opportunities for Pakistani youth through institutional partnerships, vocational training and digital innovation.
A major highlight of the visit was the signing ceremony of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Pakistani and Chinese institutions, witnessed by Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan.

The agreements provide a framework for establishing joint training and research centres, enhancing cooperation in curriculum development, vocational education, technology transfer, innovation ecosystems and student exchange programmes.
The chairman also attended a high-level seminar at China Agricultural University, where he engaged with heads of leading Chinese institutions to explore collaboration in higher education, agricultural sciences, vocational training and youth development.
Discussions focused on technology transfer, joint research initiatives, student mobility programmes and institutional linkages aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Pakistani youth in the global economy.
During a visit to the College of Engineering at Beijing University of Agriculture, Rana Mashhood held discussions on future cooperation in technical education, applied research, skills development and vocational training. Both sides expressed a strong commitment to expanding academic and institutional partnerships for the benefit of young people in Pakistan and China.
In another key engagement, the PMYP chairman met senior leadership of Alibaba Group to discuss the implementation of projects envisaged under agreements signed during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China.
The discussions focused on promoting entrepreneurship, e-commerce, digital skills, innovation and sustainable economic opportunities for Pakistani youth through Alibaba’s digital ecosystem.

Rana Mashhood also attended a convocation ceremony in Beijing, where he interacted with Pakistani graduates and congratulated them on their academic achievements.
He encouraged students to use their education, skills and international exposure to contribute to Pakistan’s socio-economic development and play a leading role in shaping the country’s future.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairman said the visit reflected the shared vision of Pakistan and China to deepen cooperation in education, innovation, skills development and youth empowerment. He said the newly signed agreements would create sustainable pathways for knowledge exchange, technological advancement, institutional collaboration and capacity building for future generations.
The visit further reinforced the longstanding Pakistan-China strategic partnership and underscored both countries’ commitment to investing in youth as a driver of innovation, prosperity and sustainable development.
