Pakistan Hosts Workshop to Boost Animal Product Exports to China
A one-day training workshop in Lahore, Pakistan aimed at promoting the export of animal products to China was conducted on Monday. The event, organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, attracted 150 participants both on-site and online, including officials from the China-Pakistan Agricultural Cooperation and Exchange Center. The workshop featured two sessions covering topics such as sanitary requirements for animal product exports and interventions to meet country-specific sanitary and phytosanitary measures. Key themes included hygienic meat production, processing technologies, and food safety standards for dairy products, with a focus on camel milk powder, cream, butter, and tea whitener. The discussions also addressed the development of a residue monitoring plan to mitigate the risk of antimicrobial contamination. The initiative aims to enhance access for agricultural products to the Chinese market and boost exports from Pakistan.
