Pakistan’s regional exports grow over 6PC, exports to China top the list
The State Bank of Pakistan has reported that the country’s exports to nine regional countries have posted a growth of over 6.3% during the 11 months of the outgoing fiscal year. China tops the list with exports to this country posting a growth of over 19% to reach USD 1.83 billion. The SBP notes that this has been specifically during the post-covid period.
During an interview, Executive Director of Pakistan China Institute (PCI), Mustafa Hyder Sayed apprised of the importance of enabling youth exchanges between Pakistan and China. He said that as there is a lot of goodwill for Chinese people in Pakistan, there is a need to make youth important stakeholders in this bilateral relationship. He added that Chinese universities are the best avenues for understanding about this society. He highlighted that PCI has been working to enable youth exchanges and has arranged visits by two delegations. He also added that as China undergoes its fifth industrial revolution, there is a lot that Pakistan can also learn from the country, especially with regards to a skilled labor force. Moreover, he said that China is Pakistan’s dependable, all-weather strategic partner that has always come to its aid.
