PM Khan’s China visit to initiate era of industrialization in Pakistan: Moin ul Haque

While talking to the media, Pakistan Ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque said that Chinese high-ranking officials have expressed gratitude over PM Khan’s decision to visit China to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. He added PM Khan would be meeting the president and premier of China and would also hold meetings with top Chinese businessmen. There are numerous Chinese enterprises that are willing to invest in the IT, housing, health care,  oil, and gas sectors and this visit will ensure those investors a conducive business environment in Pakistan under CPEC.

ISLAMABAD   –  Pakistan Ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque brushed aside the reports of slow work on CPEC and made it clear that work on CPEC   is in progress with full pace, and during the upcoming visit to China by Prime Minister Imran Khan, focus would be given on phase-II   of CPEC with deals on economic and industrial development, poverty alleviation and socio-economic development in Pakistan.

Talking exclusively to The Nation on phone from Beijing, Ambassador Moin ul Haque said that the Chinese high ranking officials have expressed gratitude over Prime Minister Imran Khan’s decision to visit China at the opening ceremony of Beijing Winter Olympics 2022.

“This visit holds utmost importance for the two countries as both leaders will be meeting face-to-face after two years and scores of issues concerning bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern would come under discussion,” Ambassador Moin ul Haque said.

He said PM Imran Khan would be meeting the president and premier of China and would also hold meetings with top Chinese businessmen.

He said there are numerous Chinese enterprises that are willing to invest in the IT, housing, health care,   oil and gas sectors and this visit will ensure those investors a conducive business environment in Pakistan.

“The first phase of CPEC revolutionised the infrastructure and energy sectors of Pakistan and the second phase will focus on massive industrialisation in Pakistan that will eventually boost the growth rate and job opportunities,” he remarked.

“The pertinent detraction from regional spoiler, India needs to be curbed in order to have peace and development in the region,” he commented.

He said the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China is deep rooted and the contemporary dynamics of international politics has urged both the states to amplify the focus on trade, economic issues and financial investment opportunities.

The vivid manifestation of Pak-China coordination is the robust development of the CPEC project and China is an emerging economic power in the international economic landscape which implies that it has much to offer to the developing countries like Pakistan, Ambassador Haque commented.

The ambassador said the Chinese economic model has uplifted millions of people that were living below the poverty line.

He said the ongoing social protection programmes like Ehsaas shows the determination of the incumbent government to alleviate poverty from the country and Prime Minister Imran Khan has clearly communicated to the international community that Pakistan stands firm to the side of China.
