PM Shehbaz Sharif welcomes SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming for CHG Meeting in Islamabad
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming to Islamabad during his visit for the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the SCO Secretariat’s support and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the organization’s goals. He assured that Pakistan would continue contributing to the SCO’s development priorities. Mr. Zhang Ming commended Pakistan’s role in successfully organizing the meeting and acknowledged its constructive contributions under its leadership as SCO CHG Chair.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received SCO Secretary-General, Mr. Zhang Ming, earlier today in Islamabad, who was here for the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting.
Recalling Mr. Ming’s earlier visit to Pakistan in July 2022, Prime Minister welcomed the Secretary-General in Islamabad and thanked him for the support extended by the SCO Secretariat to Pakistan in organization of the SCO CHG Meeting.
While reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the SCO Charter, the Prime Minister assured the Secretary-General that as SCO member, Pakistan would continue to work wholeheartedly for promotion of the organization’s development priorities for the benefit of all its member States and the wider region. He stressed that Pakistan stood ready to work with SCO Member States so as to make the organization more effective and stronger.
The Prime Minister also thanked Mr. Ming for his dedication and outstanding services as the outgoing Secretary-General of SCO and wished him every success in his future endeavours.
Mr. Ming warmly felicitated the Prime Minister on the successful organization of the SCO CHG Meeting and its positive outcome. He appreciated Pakistan’s constructive contributions to SCO’s work and activities across all domains and expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s leadership role as SCO CHG Chair.
