PPAF, CSAIL sign grant agreement to rehabilitate primary schools
Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and China Three Gorges South Asia Investment Limited (CSAIL) have signed a grant agreement to renovate and rehabilitate a government primary school in Jhimpir, Thatta, Sindh, under a CSR initiative. The 12-month project will add classrooms and sanitation facilities, a boundary wall, clean drinking water through an RO plant, tree plantation, teacher hiring, and community enrolment campaigns. PPAF CEO Nadir Gul Barech said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth, noting that strengthening education infrastructure in remote areas is vital for human capital development and bringing out-of-school children back into classrooms.
Islamabad, January 25 : Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and China Three Gorges South Asia Investment Limited (CSAIL) signed a grant agreement to renovate and rehabilitate Government Primary School Daad Bux Chang in Jhimpir, Thatta, Sindh, under TGW’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The 12-month project will include the construction of new classrooms and a toilet block, development of a boundary wall, tree plantation, installation of a reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration system, hiring of teachers, and the implementation of community mobilisation and enrolment campaigns, Gwadar Pro reported on Sunday.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief Executive Officer PPAF, Nadir Gul Barech, said the agreement formalises a meaningful partnership between the two companies, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable development, community wellbeing, and inclusive growth.
He noted that the Chinese investment firm’s engagement in Pakistan extends beyond renewable energy generation to responsible corporate citizenship.
