President Zardari Invites Chery Auto to Invest in Electric Mobility and Green Solutions in Pakistan

President Asif Ali Zardari has assured global automobile companies of the government’s full policy support for introducing new energy vehicles, electric buses, and local production of components in Pakistan.

The President made these remarks during a meeting with Yin Tongyue, Chairman of the Board of Chery Holding and Chery Automobile, in Shanghai on Tuesday.

President Zardari welcomed Chery Auto’s growing interest in Pakistan and thanked Mr. Yin for his detailed briefing on the company’s operations and technological innovations. He appreciated Chery’s plans to introduce electric buses and pursue localization, noting that such initiatives would create employment opportunities for the country’s youth and support Pakistan’s transition toward a sustainable transport system.

The President encouraged Chery to explore joint ventures in electric buses, mini trucks, green energy solutions, and charging infrastructure. He also highlighted collaboration opportunities with Pakistani companies in manufacturing, minerals, and energy storage solutions.

Mr. Yin Tongyue briefed the President and his delegation on Chery Auto’s global presence, technological advancements, and achievements in international markets.

First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla accompanied the President during the meeting.
