President Zardari Visits CPC Memorial in Shanghai and Supports Pakistan–China Chamber of Commerce Proposal
President Asif Ali Zardari, accompanied by First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, visited the Memorial of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai. Calling it an honour, he conveyed the respect of the people of Pakistan for China’s remarkable rise as a global power and reaffirmed commitment to the all-weather friendship nurtured under President Xi Jinping’s vision.
During his Shanghai visit, President Zardari and the First Lady also met Ms. Hao, Vice President of the China-Africa Chamber of Commerce & Industry, who proposed establishing a Pakistan–China Chamber of Commerce. The President welcomed the idea, assuring full support to enhance trade, investment, and business-to-business linkages, further strengthening Pakistan–China economic ties.
SHANGHAI, Sept 15 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari, accompanied by First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, visited the Memorial of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Shanghai on Monday.
Located in the city’s historic French Concession, the Memorial preserves the site where the CPC held its founding congress in July 1921. President Zardari termed it an honour to visit the historic venue where the CPC’s journey began, paying tribute to China’s rise as a major global power.
He said the people of Pakistan deeply respect China’s development path and its role on the world stage. He reaffirmed that Pakistan–China friendship, nurtured by the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping, has grown into an all-weather strategic partnership and will continue to strengthen and flourish in the years ahead.

Later, President Zardari and the First Lady met Ms. Hao, Vice President of the China-Africa Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Ms. Hao expressed her interest in establishing a similar Chamber of Commerce with Pakistan to further deepen economic cooperation and promote business-to-business linkages.
The President and the First Lady welcomed her proposal and assured their full support, noting that such an initiative would open new avenues for trade, investment, and economic collaboration between Pakistan and China.
