Speedy industrial process under CPEC to alleviate poverty: CM Buzdar

China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Nong Rong, called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar to discuss matters of mutual interest.  Acting Chinese Consul General in Lahore Mr Peng Zhengwu, Army Attaché Mr Jiang Qingshi, Economic and Commercial Minister Consular Mr Xia Guoxiang, Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, ACS (Home), Secretary Finance and CEO PBIT were also present. The CM thanked him for China’s cooperation during the coronavirus pandemic and appreciated how the relationship between the two countries continues to grow. He also added that a conducive atmosphere has been provided to investors in SEZs, as the speedy industrial process will help Pakistan alleviate poverty.

LAHORE – Ambassador of China Mr Nong Rong called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office on Thursday and discussed matters of mutual interest.  He invited the Chief Minister to visit China and appreciated the steps taken by the Punjab government to control coronavirus.

The CM thanked the Chinese government for its cooperation during the corona pandemic and provision of vaccine adding that China is the most trustworthy friend.

“We appreciate the valuable Chinese cooperation in the development of our country and it is good to see that Pakistan-China economic relations are touching new heights during the tenure of PM Imran Khan”, he added.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the multi-billion-dollar CPEC project was of valuable importance for Pakistan. He added that a conducive atmosphere has been provided to investors in the Punjab where Special Economic Zones (SEZs) were being established.

The CM invited the Chinese companies to invest in SEZs assuring that every facility will be provided as durable development of the social sector is the priority of the PTI government.  “The government is interested to benefit from Chinese cooperation in industry, agriculture and technical and vocational training sectors as valuable work has been done by the Chinese government to overcome corruption and poverty.

This Chinese success has been acknowledged by the global community and this model will be benefitted upon by the Punjab government”, he affirmed.  The Chinese ambassador assured to benefit from investment opportunities in SEZs adding that China wants to enhance cooperation with the Punjab government for the development of the social sector. “China is siding with Pakistan in the journey of development and prosperity”, he assured and added that every possible step will be taken to enhance cooperation in different sectors.

The speedy industrial process will create job opportunities along with poverty alleviation, he added.

Condoles loss of lives

Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the loss of precious human lives in the road accidents at Depalpur Road and Burewala Road and extended sympathies to the bereaved heirs.

He has sought a report from the administration and directed to provide the best treatment to the injured.

Takes notice of forest fire

Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has sought a report from Commissioner DG Khan about the fire in Lashari forest near Muzaffargarh adding that a report be submitted to his office after the inquiry. He has also directed to utilize all possible resource to extinguish the fire.
