TEVTA sends final year batch to China

The second batch of TEVTA Punjab’s Dual Diploma Program, comprising 34 students, has departed for China to complete the third and final year of their Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) at leading Chinese technical institutes, joining 36 students who had already arrived. The program, a collaboration between TEVTA and Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SIIT), provides two years of study in Pakistan and one in China in fields like mechatronics, software engineering, textile technology, and advanced construction. Officials emphasized ongoing support for students and families, highlighting the program’s role in equipping graduates with specialized skills for local and international job markets, especially CPEC-related projects.

ISLAMABAD: The remaining 34 students of TEVTA Punjab’s Dual Diploma Program have departed for China, completing the second batch of the initiative, Gwadar Pro reported.

Earlier, 36 students had already reached China to join their respective institutions. Together, the batch will pursue the third and final year of their Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) studies at leading Chinese technical institutes.

At the airport, SDG Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, representing the TEVTA Chairman, saw off the students, accompanied by Engr. Muhammad Usman Ali, Regional Director North, TEVTA institute representatives, and officials from TANG China. Bharwana conveyed the Chairman’s best wishes and assured families of TEVTA’s continued support.

He added, “We are maintaining continuous coordination with students, parents, and our Chinese partner institutions to ensure smooth implementation and long-term success of this program.”

The initiative, under an agreement between TEVTA Punjab and the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SIIT), follows a three-year curriculum with two years of study in Pakistan and one in China. It offers training in mechatronics, software engineering, textile technology, and advanced construction technology.

Earlier batches have already returned after completing their studies, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness. Engr. Muhammad Usman Ali highlighted the significance of the initiative, noting that students are gaining specialized skills that enhance employability in local and international markets, particularly for CPEC-related projects.
