University of Peshawar applauds China’s educational triumphs, vows to empower global south

Prof. Dr. Zahid Anwar, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of the China Study Center at the University of Peshawar (UoP) highlighted the positive impact of China’s successful higher education system on developing countries. Speaking at the 3rd South and Southeast Asian University Presidents Forum held at Yunnan University, he emphasized that many nations have found inspiration in China’s educational achievements and have initiated collaborations to enhance the performance of their own universities.
The vice chancellor acknowledged China’s economic development as a source of hope for developing countries and praised Chinese institutions of higher education for playing a crucial role in strengthening regional connectivity. He specifically commended Yunnan University, Kunming, for taking the lead in establishing the South and Southeast Asian Universities Network, describing it as a significant advancement.
The annual conference organized by the South-East Asian Universities Network was noted for its potential to foster cooperation among member universities, addressing the challenges faced by higher education institutions in South-East Asia collectively.
