According to a media report, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Pakistan is a significant step toward persuading Pakistan to support greater regional connectivity, peace and stability, and infrastructure development, with the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) playing a key role. Furthermore, Uzbek President’s visit is also expected to strengthen Pak-Uzbek bilateral relations and encourage FDI, imports and exports, joint ventures, transportation facilitation, energy cooperation, and, most importantly, regional connectivity.

ISLAMABAD,Mar 3,(Gwadar Pro)- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Pakistan would be a “giant step” towards persuasion of greater regional connectivity, peace and stability and infrastructural development, in which China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would play a vital role.
It is hoped that the visit of President Mirziyoyev will further consolidate Pak-Uzbek bilateral relations and stimulate inflow of FDIs, imports & exports, joint ventures, transportation facilitations, energy cooperation and, above all, means of greater regional connectivity.
President Mirziyoyev will arrive in Islamabad today on a two-day state visit to Pakistan, on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, comprising the Foreign Minister, members of the Cabinet, senior government officials, businessmen and members of the press.
During the visit, the two sides will review the entire gamut of bilateral relations including cooperation in political, trade and economic, connectivity, education, culture, security and defense domains.
CPEC has become a “benchmark” and the government of Uzbekistan, being an active and productive member of BRI, has shown keen interest in joining CPEC.
It is expected that the two-day visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan will act as an economic stimulus and gear-up all sectors of the economy in the days to come.
There is also a huge potential for future cooperation in the fields of “climate change”, “bio-diversity”, “ecological development”, “organic agriculture”, “water conservation” and last but not the least, hybrid seeds between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the days to come.
