Seven-year maintenance contract for Gwadar coal-fired power station under CPEC signed

Government of Pakistan is committed to promote the socio-economic development of Balochistan mainly under the CPEC. It is noted that government has signed a seven-year maintenance contract for Gwadar 300MW coal-fired power station under CPEC. Power China has successfully signed the contract for the project and will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the power station in the next seven years. The coal-fired power station would address the power supply issue in the Gwadar region.

Islamabad, Sep 21th (Gwadar Pro) – Last week, a seven-year maintenance contract for Gwadar 300MW coal-fired power station has been signed in Islamabad. The contract is based on Gwadar 300MW coal-fired power station engineering procurement construction (EPC) contract signed last year.

Power China has successfully signed the contract for the project and will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the power station in the next seven years. This means that Gwadar 300MW coal-fired power station realized an engineering procurement construction and operation (EPCO) full industrial chain production.

Power China will make up a profesional team and send technical personnel to Gwadar 300MW coal-fired power station for operation and maintencance .
Meanwhile, the project will also employlocal talents and promote regional employment.

According to Private Power & Infrastructure Board (PPIB), Gwadar coal-fired power station will provide sufficient and reliable power supply to the surrounding region of Gwadar. This project is funded by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and has been included in CPEC framework
