Ahsan calls for private sector’s leading role in realizing CPEC Phase-II potential
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal stressed that CPEC Phase-II must focus on economic growth, exports and investment, with the private sector playing a leading role. Reviewing the CPEC Action Plan 2025–2029, he highlighted Phase-I achievements, including around $25 billion in Chinese investment and 8,000 MW of additional power capacity, and said Phase-II would prioritize industrialization, agriculture, minerals, technology, human capital and green development. He also emphasized stronger Pakistan-China business cooperation, training 1,000 agricultural experts in China, and achieving the $100 billion export target by 2035, urging political stability, reforms and an enabling environment for investment.
