China’s unprecedented medical endeavours to combat COVID-19 are commendable: FM Qureshi
Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to discuss the current situation in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak in Pakistan. During the meeting, FM Qureshi has expressed profound gratitude to China for supporting Pakistan in fight against COVID-19. He asserted Pakistan is learning from Chinese experience and benefiting from their unprecedented medical endeavours in the fight against COVID-19. Ambassador Yao Jing, while appreciating Pakistan’s efforts to combat covid-19, ensured China would continue to strengthen Pakistan’s capacity to fight this pandemic.FM Qureshi and Yao Jing have reaffirmed bilateral cooperation during the second phase of CPEC.
Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy’s deputy head of mission, Pang Chunxue lauded Pakistan’s efforts to control COVID-19 and asserted that international cooperation is important to contain the virus.
On the other hand, China’s healthcare assistance in fight against COVID-19 has won the heart of Sindh government. The local government hailed China’s durable support to Pakistan in a difficult time.
SLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Thursday, ARY News reported.
Matters pertaining to the latest situation arising out of the Covid-19, steps being taken by the Pakistani government to overcome the pandemic and other issues came under discussion in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, FM Qureshi lauded Beijing’s support for Pakistan to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. He maintained that Pakistan is benefiting from the experience of Chinese doctors and paramedical staff, who had successfully treated their coronavirus-hit population.
The foreign minister said that the completion of CPEC’s second phase will help boost bilateral cooperation. On the occasion, the Chinese ambassador lauded Pakistan’s sincere efforts in fight against COVID-19.
Earlier on March 26, expressing his sincere gratitude to China for supporting Pakistan in fight against novel coronavirus, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that the medical equipment provided by Beijing will greatly strengthen the country’s capacity.
Talking to Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing, who had called on him in Islamabad, PM Imran had reaffirmed Pakistan’s support and solidarity with the people of China in their fight against coronavirus pandemic.
On the occasion, the Chinese ambassador had said that his government and leadership remained firmly committed to supporting Pakistan in combating COVID-19 as the highest priority.
ISLAMABAD: With nearly 11,000 cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and 230 fatalities in a little over six weeks since the country reported its first case, Pakistan’s efforts to curb the spread of the virus were hailed by a Chinese diplomat.
The praise came during an online conference on “China’s efforts to combat Covid-19 and humanitarian aid to the world”.
The conference had been jointly organized by the Centre for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS) and the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad
Pang Chunxue, the Chinese embassy’s deputy head of mission, appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in combating the virus.
She further explained how the Chinese government dealt with the pandemic and what China was doing to help other countries overcome it. In this regard, Pang said that Beijing will continue its humanitarian help to the world, with a main focus on the ‘regional emergency mechanism’.
Pang further highlighted the need for international solidarity and cooperation to contain the virus.
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information, Local Government, Housing and Town Planning, Religious Affairs, Forest and Wildlife Syed Nasir Hussain Shah Thursday said the way Chinese were helping Pakistan in this difficult time, when they themselves were battling the coronavirus pandemic was highly commendable.
He made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of a Chinese company working with the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board. He said the friendship between Pakistan and China was higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the oceans, adding that China had always stood by Pakistan in its difficulties and never left Pakistan alone.
On the occasion, the Chinese delegation provided the Minister with protective equipments including medical masks, gloves, temperature checking machines, PPEs, spray machines, etc to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Sindh Local Government Secretary Roshan Ali Sheikh was also present on the occasion.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah thanked the Chinese delegation and said that the essential items provided by them would be very helpful in preventing the spread of coronavirus. The minister said that all the assistance being provided by China to Pakistan in the time of pandemic would always be remembered. Speaking on the occasion, the members of Chinese delegation said that China would never leave Pakistan alone in this difficult time. China would continue to help Pakistan till the last patient of Coronavirus recovered in Pakistan, he added.
The members of the delegation said that China-Pakistan relationship was not only very strong at the governmental level but also at the people’s level it was exemplary.
