CPHGC 1,320MW Coal-Fired Power Plant in Balochistan under CPEC Now Commercially Operational

China Power Hub Generation Company’s (CPHGC) 660 MW coal fired power project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has achieved COD at 8:00 PM PST on 14 August 2019. Plant is now functioning smoothly as the second unit of the mega project is connected to the national grid. The project is a joint venture between China Power International Holding (CPIH) and Hubco Pakistan. The project is worth $2 billion, and will provide nine billion kilowatt-hours of electricity every year.
