Faculty members of Pak-China Vocational Institute to get training from China

The Pakistan China Vocational and Technical Institute (PCV&TI) in Gwadar will send its faculty members to China for a 6-month training program in March. The Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology, one of the four stakeholders, will host the visiting faculty. The institute recently hired 16 teachers in various fields and approved its operational roadmap during its first executive body meeting. The federal government has allocated a budget of Rs 240 million for the fiscal year 2023-24 to support the institute’s operations. Once at full capacity, the institute aims to generate jobs and cultivate technical and professional experts within the local community.

Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology, which is among the four stakeholders of the Institute will host the visiting faculty, according to a report published by Gwadar Pro on Monday.

Last month the Institute had hired the services of 16 teachers in fields of Maritime Business and Port Management, Software/ Information Technology, E-commerce, Tourism and Hotel Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, English, Mathmatics, Statistics and Chinese language.

The first executive body meeting of PCV&TI held last month had approved the operational roadmap of the institute.

Moreover, the federal government has also released a budget of Rs 240 million for the fiscal year 2023-24 to facilitate the operation of the institute.

The institute after gaining its optimal capacity will generate jobs in addition to yielding of technical and professional experts from the local community.
