Pakistan deepens China cooperation in IT, agriculture and climate resilience: Ahsan Iqbal

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan was deepening cooperation with China in information technology, agriculture and climate resilience to promote sustainable economic growth. Reviewing the first year of the 2025–2029 Action Plan, he highlighted efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s IT capacity, equip youth with modern skills and create greater employment opportunities through closer collaboration with China.

Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said Pakistan was strengthening cooperation with China in information technology, agriculture and climate resilience, equipping its youth with modern skills to support sustainable economic growth.

He made these remarks while addressing a review meeting marking one year of implementation of the 2025-2029 Action Plan agreed during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China in August 2025.

The minister noted that the government was working closely with China to enhance Pakistan’s capacity in the IT sector and create greater opportunities for the country’s young population.
