Pakistan invites Iran to invest in CPEC SEZs
During a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Hosseini, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Railways, Azam Khan Swati invited Iran to invest in CPEC SEZs. He also mentioned that bilateral relations between the two countries are improving in all areas and CPEC offers lucrative opportunities for countries.
Pakistani Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati said on Wednesday afternoon that Iran is welcome to invest in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs), being built under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
During a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Hosseini, who called on him here at the ministry, Swati mentioned that the bilateral relations between the two countries were improving in all areas.
“Pakistan Railways,” he pointed out, “was constantly striving to improve its’ customer service’by inking long term agreements with local and international suppliers.”
Relations between the two countries and various railway projects were also discussed in detail in the meeting, according to an official statement.
Swati underlined that Pakistan was offering a conducive business and investment environment – especially in the COPEC SEZs – which Iranian investors should take advantage of.
The Ambassador appreciated that Pakistan and Iran enjoyed a brotherly and cordial relationship and expressed his desire to expand bilateral cooperation. Railways Chairman Habibur Rehman Gilani was also present on the occasion.
